The Night Sky

av-admin Blog - Just Saying

Last night I was up north, outside with some of my family, looking at the clear, unobstructed by street lights, beautiful night sky.
There in the west sky near the horizon was the planet Venus. Turning a bit southeast of Venus, but higher in the sky, was the planet Jupiter. In the direct south sky was a beautiful waxing moon with a lovely twinkling star below it. Continuing to move southeastward was the planet Saturn and in the direct east was the red planet Mars.
According to our resident astronomer Steve, this occurrance of 4 planets all being visible to us at the same time, doesn’t happen very often or for a long period of time. In essence, instead of the stars lining up for us, it was the planets.
The magnificance of the universe was so overwhelming to gaze at, that I could hardly believe how long we all stood there in awe, quiet in our own thoughts, and feeling so small below this spectacular view. It is something I will keep with me for a very long time.
Why not take an evening, to really see the night sky and you too will feel its beauty and know what a truly moving experience it can be.

Just saying….
